About Cross Connections

Cross Connections International, an esteemed design festival within the global design academia since 2009, returns for its fourth edition in 2024. This year's event features a juried exhibition, a design competition, and a webinar series. Curated by the School of Art and Design at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the Cross Connections 2024 International Exhibition and Competition of Visual Communication Design and Emerging Media Design showcases the exceptional talents of students and faculty from twenty international institutions. The juried exhibition includes 100 print-based artworks and 74 screen-based multimedia pieces spanning diverse visual mediums. The Cross Connections 2024 event, themed “Unleash Your Creativity: Explore Your Design Beyond Borders, Cultures, Concepts, Media, and Disciplines,” received 525 entries from 20 international institutions. The exhibition and competition aim to offer an inspiring amalgamation of contemporary design trends. We extend our sincere gratitude to all participating institutions and to our Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Luis Zayas, and the Dean of the College of Fine Arts, Dr. Jeffrey Ward, for their strong support with funding and advising in organizing this traveling exhibition and collaborative project.
